Butoh master Taketeru Kudo will make a special appearance at the 2008 Vancouver International Dance Festival. He will perform at 10 PM on March 14 and 15 and give a workshop from 2:30 PM to 5 PM on March 16th at the Roundhouse Community Centre.

Kudo is known for his extraordinary presence. With a history of training with Koichi Tamano and Yukio Waguri as well as five years as a member of the world famous butoh group, Sankai Juku, Kudo embodies the butoh spirit with a ferocious physicality that is astonishing to witness.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see this great butoh artist and to take a workshop with him. You can buy tickets and register for the workshop online or call 604.662.4966.

Tickets are $30/$24 but the best deal is the Late Night Show Pass for $60 that includes Sarah Williams (Montreal), Martin Bélanger (Montreal), Butoh-a-Go-Go (Vancouver) in addition to Taketeru Kudo. All performances are on the Cabaret Stage where you can have a glass of wine or beer while you have your senses rocked.
